Now Hiring: Banquet Managers

Prairie Winds Event Center, located in Orange City, IA, has an exciting new opportunity for anyone seeking a very flexible, part time position! The Banquet Manager will assist with event operations, manage various events ranging from weddings to business meetings, and will report to the General Manager.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Managing events and event staff to make sure events run smoothly and exceed expectations
  • Oversee the set-up/tear-down of tables, chairs, and/or other equipment for each event
  • Leading venue tours to prospective clients
  • Cleaning and organizing of facility
  • Assisting with all audio & visual set-up and questions
  • Work alongside event vendors to ensure event satisfaction

Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and/or irregular hours
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Highly organized, hard-working, and responsible
  • Willingness to learn and able to handle various situations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team to achieve event goals
  • Ability to manage crowds ranging up to 400 guests
  • Ability to lift 10-25lbs+ and work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • General working knowledge of audio & visual technology and computers (PC, Mac, etc.)


  •  High School Diploma
  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, and/or customer service (preferred but not required)
